NRO Leader Speaks to Students

National Reconnaissance Office senior executive, businesswoman, educator, and mentor Karessa Aaron spoke with Electrical Engineering students at Alabama A&M University today. Ms. Aaron shared with the students her personal story of how she earned her Electrical Engineering degree as a black woman and then rose through a remarkable career in cleared Federal service. She offered information about many US intelligence community internships seeking candidates - the students took careful notes as she spoke of these opportunities. Finally, she held an open dialogue with the students about careers in STEM fields, the government, and intelligence.

Contributing her time and energies to help raise our next generation of minority, woman, and veteran STEM professionals is a passion that Ms. Aaron shares with METT Scholars. We are deeply grateful to her for her wisdom and generous time - as a senior official in a DC operations center, she has precious little time.

It is inspiration like this from powerful, successful folks with similar backgrounds to our students and Scholars coupled with the technical resources that your donations help us to provide that will keep these students on-track in their STEM careers and ultimately many will benefit our nation as Ms. Aaron has and continues to do.
